Comments: It was a sad day when La Serre closed its doors. My wife and I traveled to Yachats each anniversary since 1982. Dining at La Serre was something we looked forward to and treasured. Sitting fireside in the Bistro, sipping wine, eating world class clam puffs, and listening to our friend Mark Strickland singing and playing his guitar was a beautiful experience by anyone's measure. As I write this message, I'm listening to a cd of Mark's music and it brings tears to my eyes knowing future trips to Yachats will never be the same for us. Mark had sung for La Serre customers for probably 14 years. He, and his music, was very much a part of our experience and now, our memories. La Serre served a delicious menu with something for everyone. The service was great, the hospitality was like home, the ambiance superb. We've taken our 2008 anniversary trip to Yachats and there is an emptiness within us without La Serre and Mark. Thank you La Serre & Mark for all the good times & memories.

Comments: I called from Portland to make a Valentine's Day reservation for another romantic and wonderful meal when we came to town. I was told that they sold the business in 2007 and the location is now occupied by a Mexican food restaurant which has retained the plants but put tv's in the fireplace room. Very sad.

Comments: I came to this site and read the remarkable reviews of La Serre. My friend and I drove over, looking forward to a wonderful meal. When we got there the doors were closed. Apparently they are no longer in business. :( However, right across the street is a fabulous little restaurant called "The Drift". I highly recommend the seafood crepes!

Comments: I have been visiting the Oregon coast for many years and we dine at Le Serre every time and it is wonderful every time ! The food and service are always the best on the coast! Try the clam puffs. I actually crave them! The seafood is always prepared to perfection and the wine selection is terrific. The house dressing is killer ! Thanks!

Comments: La Serre is a fond memory for me. I was born and raised in Oregon and my family would take trips up to Yachats, Neskowin, Seaside, all the little coastal towns which I still love. We would stop in for dinner at La Serre and let me tell you, it's incomprable. The only other restaurant which holds a candle to it is the Portside in Charleston (by Coos Bay) I live about 15 miles away from St. Louis, MO and there is NO dining experience like La Serre out here. I would pay even 3 times what they charge at La Serre because the quality of food and service is outstanding. I can not WAIT to get back out to Oregon and take my wife to eat at this truly exceptional restaurant. You owe it to yourself to experience FINE dining. Check out this gem. It's a 10/10, 5 doesn't do it justice.
